10:00am: Gladys and Maybelle
This singing duo is not hard to spot in their colorful, vintage dresses, petticoats and pillbox hats. For years these two sisters were heard most weekends singing their sibling harmonies and adding to that special magic that the Fort Worth Stockyards holds. Nowadays the Singing Sisters, as HGTV named them, can be spotted at various venues and events in the Lone Star State and beyond warbling their trademark Folkabilly sound.
12:00pm: Jim Gatlin with Waco Thompson and Friends
The Gatlin Band featuring Waco Thompson will be churning out bluegrass and country music at the Bluebonnet Trails Festival starting at noon. The group has spent more than 11 years playing featured performances together at many festivals, churches and nightclubs in the Dallas/Ft Worth area.
12:30pm and 2:00pm: Wildflower Walks through Kachina Prairie
Kachina Prairie is an Ennis treasure – a 30 acre remnant native, never-plowed prairie, now being actively conserved by a coalition of the Ennis Garden Club, Indian Trail Master Naturalists, City of Ennis and the Texas Land Conservancy. 2:00pm: Green Tones
The UNT Green Tones are the premier co-ed contemporary A Cappella group at the University of North Texas in Denton, founded in 2008 by Brian Alexander and Trent Bynum.
3:00pm: The Kody Norris Show
Always maintaining a sharp professional appearance, complete with colorful rhinestone suits and cowboy hats, The Kody Norris Show gives a bluegrass fan one of the most solid, entertaining and animated performances they will ever experience. The performances of The Kody Norris Show are reminiscent of traditional bluegrass artists, yet Kody brings his own special, distinct flair to the music.
12:00pm - 5:00: Wine Wander
Enjoy the wonder of the bluebonnets then wander around downtown sampling wines from some great Texas wineries. Tickets are $30 and include a souvenir wine glass, event bag, map of all participating wineries, and the opportunity to taste some of the finest wines in Texas. Bottles of wine will also be available for purchase on site. A limited amount of tickets will be sold, so purchase today to secure your glass!
